It has grown from strength to strength over the years to become the most important scientific gathering in echocardiography attracting participants from around the world. This year at EUROECHO was recorded the biggest number of attendees – more than 3000.
Echocardiography has changed very much over the past years with exciting new technologies such as contrast, real-time three-dimensional echocardiography and deformation imaging that has set new challenges amongst increased competition from other imaging modalities. And it was demonstrated during the sessions, workshops, discussions at the Congress. The academic standards and scope of research presentations and discussion at EUROECHO 2007 was very high with over 1200 abstracts presented. It was arranged a large industry exhibition and a record number of satellite sessions.
Russian chapter of ISCU was represented at the Congress by its Chairman, Professor Vadim A. Kuznetsov, MD, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center and its Members of Board: Professor Elena Pavliukova, MD, leading scientific researcher from Tomsk Institute of Cardiology and Nikolay Korneev, MD, head of functional diagnostics center of the Main Military Clinical Hospital in Moscow. Russian scientists shared their experience in cardiovascular ultrasound.
Moreover, Russian chapter of ISCU took an active part in the International Echo Area arranged within EUROECHO Congress with the purpose of giving visibility to the activities of the Society.
